The KOMUP DUO consists of a welded steel construction, whose individual elements are connected to one another by means of hinges. The length of the segments is constructed in such a way as to allow them to be folded completely in one another. In this way, the device can be inserted easily into large pipe profiles through a DIN man-hold opening.
By doing without the heavy bolted joint of conventional socket testing devices, the KOMUP DUO own weight - dependant on size - can be reduced by a third.
This results in a clear reduction of transport weight and subsequently costs.
Continuous rubber hollow chamber profiles also guarantee a 100-percent seal of the socket testing device - even after frequent use and assembly / disassembly of the device, the KOMUP DUO remains leak-proof.
By attaching additional measuring sensors to the reference chambers, any possible loss of pressure from the testing devices can be determined and eliminated. When testing particularly critical cement pipes, the outer clips used for saturation / sealing of the pipe are filled with water or gel.
Despite the compact and light construction of the Komup Duo, no com-promises were made in maintaining the proven städtler+beck security and quality standards. The rubber hollow chamber profile, as with all conventional pneumatic testing device from städtler+beck, is limited in its expansion through the leading of a steel peg.
The folding mechanism is secured by a closing steel pin. The 5 mm wall consisting of a welded steel construction allows a corresponding pressurisation of the rubber hollow chamber profiles without deformation of the KOMUP device body.
The maximal hub of 70 mm of the städtler+beck rubber hollow chamber is industry leading: even slightly different internal measures of GFK pipes can be tested with this standard device - without bothersome and complex problems with bridging bands. Testing problems with socket misalignment are a thing of the past.
The combination of different rubber quality is also unique. On the rubber hollow chamber profile, in rubber notches, a special rubber sealing band is applied as a standard feature. This sealing band has been selected so that it allows for a 100-percent seal even in use in dry cement pipes.
